David B.
David B. (alias Pierre-François Beauchard) is a French draftsman and comics scriptwriter born in 1959 in Nîmes. After art studies at the Duperré School, he worked as an illustrator for numerous magazines. He is famous for his autobiographical comic L’Ascension du Haut Mal, which was inspired to him by his elder brother’s disease and received several awards.

Frédéric BEIGBEDER
Frédéric Beigbeder is a French writer and critic born in 1965 in Neuilly-sur-Seine. After graduating from Sciences-Po and the CELSA, he wrote his first novel, Mémoires d’un jeune homme dérangé, and is hired as a creative by an advertising agency. In 2000, he is fired from Young & Rubicam agency after the publication of 99 francs, a successful novel satirizing the advertising industry. In 2002, he directed the presidential campaign of the communist candidate Robert Hue. From 2003 to 2006, he was a publisher at Flammarion. He received the Interallié Prize in 2003 for Windows on the world. He also created the Prix de Flore in 1994.

Grégoire BOUILLIER
Grégoire Bouillier is a French writer and journalist born in 1960 in Algeria. After years of wandering and alimentary jobs, he became a painter and a journalist. He published some texts within magazines such as L’infini or NRV. His two first novels, considered as belonging to the autofiction genre, were acclaimed. He currently lives and works in Paris.

Pascal BRUCKNER
Pascal Bruckner is a french novelist and essayist born in 1948 in Paris. After graduating from the École Pratique des Hautes Études, he began a teaching career in several American universities and then at Sciences-Po. He contributes to Le Nouvel Observateur and Le Monde, and is a publisher at Grasset.
He was firstly affiliated to the « new philosophers » and notably wrote Les Voleurs de beauté (Renaudot Prize in 1997) and La Tentation de l’innocence (Médicis Prize of the best essay in 1995). His numerous commitments regularly lead him to make himself heard, such as during the Iraq War.

Catherine CLÉMENT
Catherine Clément is a french writer and philosopher born in 1939 in Boulogne-Billancourt. After graduating from the École Normale Supérieure, she became Vladimir Jankélévitch’s assistant at the Sorbonne University. In 1976, she left higher education and she worked for the newspaper Le Matin, where she was in charge of the cultural section. In 1982, she was posted to the Ministry of Foreign Relations and headed the AFAA. Since 2002, she is running the Popular University of the Quai Branly Museum.

Alain MABANCKOU
Alain Mabanckou is a congolese writer born in 1966 in Congo-Brazaville. He studied law in Brazaville and Paris, worked in this sector but concurrently wrote books of poetry and novels which won many prizes. He resides in the USA where he is teaching literature at UCLA. He is one of the french-speaking Africa’s most prolific writers and received the Prix Littéraire de l’Afrique noire in 1998for his first novel Bleu-Blanc-Rouge. Verre cassé was awarded the Prix des Cinq Continents de la Francophonie in 2005 and Mémoires de porc-épic received the Renaudot Prize in 2006.

François ROCA
François Roca is a french illustrator born in Lyon in 1971. He studied fine arts and illustration in Lyon but his passion for painting first pushed him to exhibit oil painting portraits. In 1996, he started to illustrate children books. The same year, he published the album La Reine des fourmis a disparu, which opened to him the doors of many publishing houses. He is now considered as one of the most important french illustrator for children books and has published more than twenty ones with his friend Fred Bernard. |

André VELTER
André Velter is a french writer and poet born in 1945. He shares his life between his travels in Afghanistan, India, Nepal and Tibet, and his comparative studies on poetry all over the world. He also animated many literary programs and wrote literary chronicles for the newspaper Le Monde. He is also at the head of the collection Poésie at Gallimard. In 1996, he was awarded the Goncourt Prize for Poetry. |
